چکیده

An experiment entitled “Growth, yield and water use efficiency of sweet sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] affected by drip irrigation nitrogen levels through fertigation” was carried out on clayey slightly alkaline soil during rabi season 2019-20 2020-21 at the Instructional Farm, Department Agronomy, College Agriculture, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. The laid in split plot design with four replications. There were nine treatment combinations. main treatments viz; (I1) 0.6 PEF, (I2) 0.8 PEF (I3) 1.0 PEF; sub consist three fertigation (N1) 75% RDN fertigation, (N2) 100% (N3) 125% (RDF for is 90-40-40 N, P2O5 K2O kg ha-1). results revealed that scheduling enhance consumptive which ultimately resulted higher grain fodder yields sorghum. indicated significantly increased efficiency, eventually recorded Based two years experimentation, it can be concluded getting yields, should applied common surface each 50 mm depth followed (operating pressure: 1.2 cm-2 lateral spacing: 120 cm) alternate day crop fertilized which, 50% as basal remaining five equal splits 10 days interval started from 35 DAS.

Effects of ethephon on growth and yield of sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) at different growth stages

There is little information about the effects of ethephon ripening hormone on the yield of sweet sorghum in Thailand. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of ethephon hormone applied at different growth stages of three cultivars of sweet sorghum on its growth and yield. The experiment was conducted from December 2016 to May 2017 at a research plot of the Faculty of Agricultural Te...

Dynamics of Fertilizer Nitrogen Applied to Sweet Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) in the Semi-Arid Tropics

Although sweet sorghum is in focus as a promising multi-purpose crop in semi-arid tropical regions, information on optimum nitrogen (N) management remains rather limited. To determine and understand the N dynamics in sweet sorghum-soil ecosystem, we evaluated the N recovery of applied fertilizer in the Alfisol field during the 2009 and 2010 rainy seasons. Sweet sorghum was grown under six N rat...
